Description: Andy Perrine will lead a short hike to the remains of the infamous St. Francis Dam, which was built in one of the worst possible locations from a geological perspective, and which, not surprisingly, collapsed in 1928, resulting in a catastrophic and lethal flood and, on a happier note, in the birth of the field of engineering geology.
