Rockhounding

What to bring: Rock collecting equipment (hammers, bags, etc), sturdy shoes, water, snacks and such.

Description: Join us as we go explore an area around Acton, Ca for some awesome minerals and rocks. We will be mostly driving around, but may need to scramble a bit to reach outcrops.

Minerals that we may potentially find: Mica books, ilmenite, orthoclase, actinolite, hornblende, greenschist, banded agate, massive olivine, jasper, malachite, chrysocolla.

Disclaimer: Information about these areas may be somewhat outdated, so it is possible that what we seek could now be off limits. Finding stuff is not guaranteed, but is  likely.
