On the 18th we will be having a day hike to Sandstone Peak, the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains that provides spectacular vistas. This is a ~6 mile loop with a ~1200' elevation gain and is considered a moderate hike. It will be chilly at the top so bring a jacket or other cold weather gear to stay comfortable. We will leave UCLA at 11 a.m. to head to the trailhead posted in the Google map link below. Please respond if you think you can make it so that we can get a proper head count and make sure we find enough vehicles. Bring plenty of water and a lunch which we will eat at the top. Stay tuned for further details as the dates approach for the below listed trips, but for now join us to head off to Sandstone Peak and talk about geological stuffs.
